Appointment for a Medical Consultation

Information on Scheduling Appointments for Specialist Medical Evaluations

During the asylum process, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) often requires an expert opinion to determine whether a woman has undergone female genital mutilation and, if so, what type. In the case of her young daughters, the goal is to determine whether they are still intact.

We are experiencing high demand for appointments for examinations and evaluations at our gynecology clinic. Therefore, thorough preparation is necessary so that we can ensure the clinic runs smoothly and have the important information we need in advance to prepare the evaluation report.

Appointments can only be scheduled if the following procedure is followed.

First, we need the following information in advance via email:

  • the hearing transcripts and the BAMF's denial notices, if available.
  • the clearance report for unaccompanied minor refugees (UMFs) who have not yet had a hearing with the BAMF.

We can't suggest a date until we have these documents!

To help us schedule your appointment, please include the following additional information in your email:

  • Will the woman be accompanied to the appointment? Who will accompany her?
  • What languages does the woman speak?

Please make an appointment well in advance so that deadlines can be met!
